Chris Hambrecht, the founder of Design Studio 45, has worked in the construction and remodeling industry in the Washington metropolitan area for 29 years.
As a graduate architect, Chris began his career as a Construction Superintendent, transitioned to Architectural Manager and then Design/Build Project Designer, and was blessed to have associated with some fine people and outstanding companies. He trained with the leaders in the business. His portfolio includes residential additions, renovations, and custom homes.
At the age of 45, he realized his lifetime goal of establishing his own firm, appropriately named Design Studio 45. He formed a talented team with strong relationships with the trades and vendors in this area. The company is a licensed and insured builder in Maryland.
As a “full-service” design/build company, Chris can work works with his
client through all stages, beginning with a schematic design to the finished
project. Offering both creative design options and product options allows
clients more control of their budgets. Chris also has a tool for that client
that may just want a schematic design and preliminary specifications to
get an idea of the project budget for the vision they have.
Chris is also active in the volunteer maintenance program for assisting low-income homeowners — Rebuilding Together Montgomery County. In addition, he has combined his love for his church and his hobby of cartooning into a cartoon that is received by over 1,000 churches and websites around the world for publication in bulletins or brochures and is translated into four languages.
He graduated from the Catholic University of America’s School of Architecture in 1993 and lives in Brinklow with his wife, Kathy, and their three children (Ellie (Towson) 2nd grade teacher, Grace (Penn State) Nurse and Sam (Freshman Towson)) in a house they completely remodeled. He understands firsthand what living through a large renovation is like and the impacts it has on a family.
